wws12
Hello.I am looking for a graphics card to use in ML with QECI support. After some searching, I cam across this card http://www.amazon.com/GeForce-Express-Profile-Graphics-8400GS-1GD3-SL/dp/B006M1MW1Q but I'm not sure if this will work for my needs. My proc only supports HD 2000 graphics so that obviously won't work. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, wws12

Rampage Dev
It does work however I would spend a little more money and buy the ATI 5770.
wws12
Why would you buy this card over the one I mentioned? Just trying to see if it is worth it to buy the more expensive card. I only need basic graphics support with QE/CI. I'm not gonna play any games on it, more like just iMovie and iBooks Author. It does work however I would spend a little more money and buy the ATI 5770. ^^

Rampage Dev
Something a bit more powerful. HDMI audio works much easier. Supports more then 2 screens (if needed). Will last you a long time were as the 8400GS is very old and there is no longer support for the Gen before that so I would think that support for that gen may be drooped in the next OS X. Just a thought. Sometime going cheap will cost you more money later then doing it right the first time.
Jian
Yes it works for me out of the box. Had to modify the kext in lion though.

Rampage Dev
Awesome. Thank you very much. Will this work with my 1366x768 monitor if I use an adapter? Yes, 800x600 is the lowest it supports so you should be fine. Enjoy. Also with the proper DSDT edit HDMI audio should work without any kext modification as well. Also, if I get this card, and a PCI-Express adapter for it, will it work OOB?
