The only problem I have is that the graphics are stuck at 1024x768 with no QE or CI support. I picked up an EVGA GeForce 7900 GS for $3 from a yardsale today. I tested it under windows and it works great. My question is, will it work to fix my display in my OSx86 machine? salado Posted January 6, 2013 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Dear C.D.C, I am guessing ML don't support the old cards any more. Here is my situation: 1. XFX NVidia 7900GS 256MB worked well (with QE/CI) on 10.7.3, full resolution 2 monitors. 2. Upgraded to 10.8.2 with iATKOS ML2 and with NVEnabler 64 it stuck with 1024x768. 3. If I keep the stock GeForceXXXX.kext in the SLE, the 10.8.2 hackintosh won't even boot with normal mode. It only comes up in safe mode which does not require those graphics card related KEXTs. 4. Remove all 3 or 4 GeForceXXXX.kext from SLE, but keeping all the NVDXXXXXX.kext and NVEnabler 64. The system can boot up with normal mode. But, 1024x768 with no QE/CI. I tried to copy those GeForceXXXXX KEXTs from 10.7.3 to ML2 but it didn't help. Have you got any luck? Now I am stuck with 10.7.3. But heck, Message app got banned on all Hackintosh boxes anyway...
