EPDM Posted September 22, 2006 Share Posted September 22, 2006 Hi folks, Until recently I used 10.4.5 (Maxxuss DVD 10.4.4 --> 10.4.5 install and update DVD). I downloaded the afformentioned JAS update because I was a bit scared off by the manual instructions given on this forum to update from 1.4.5/6 to 10.4.7. The update went well on my main rig. My other rig gave boot problems. But I completely erased its drive, reinstalled 10.4.4/5 and applied the JAS update after this fresh install. No problems encountered then. I found that iSync doesn't start. The icon keeps jumping on the dock but nothing happens. This also happens on the fresh installed OSX. So this definitly something with the JAS update. Luckiliy since I'd palced all the apple stuff in their own maps I had some copies left around of the old tools (including iSync from 10.4.5). This works fine on 10.4.7 Perhaps other ppl have found problems (and posible solutions to these problems). And indeed all apps appear to be updated. It's just that iSync won't startup. Maybe most of the folks here haven't experienced the joy of a bluetooth enabled and connected celphone but I have. And since I've (literally) ditched my last Pocket PC, I started using the agenda feature on my celphone instead. Compared to Windows where Outlook is the major program for a digital assistant, the mac uses a combination of Address Book, iCall and iSync. It's unbelievably easy and fun on Mac OS X. So that's why this is imporant for me. Anyway can ppl with 10.4.6 please tell me what version o/t program is included. I use the version from 10.4.5 since that was my previous OS basis; iSync Version 2.1.1 (93.0). And is someone willing to sent this to me if this an improved version? Or can someone give any tips on how to extract individual applications from upgrade-files? Thanks in advance.
