rlf
2 thoughts: 1. Is the drive USB 3.0? If so, you probably need to add a USB 3.0 driver to your installer method. 2. Sometimes updating the firmware on the drive helps. Go to the WD site -> Support -> Downloads -> My Book and find the firmware updater. Foxic
If you are using a USB 2.0 drive and still cant see it in disk utility, try using the ports on the other side of your laptop. If this works, once you've installed and booted to the OS you can fix it with a DSDT patch. (Google USB EHB2 dsdt patch and I'm sure you'll find something of use) 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/281547-need-help-with-mac-os-x-installing/#findComment-1841686 Share on other sites

(Google USB EHB2 dsdt patch and I'm sure you'll find something of use) Plugged it into a second usb drive and got it to install to the External HDD. I'm having another problem though. After installing snow leopard, I try to boot into it using the boot loader but everytime I hit the enter to boot up the mac os x, My computer restarts, or my computer bugs out and my caps locks button starts flashing so I have to manually turn the computer off, or, I get a kernal panic. If this info is important, here's my computer's specs Amd-a8 quad core 4gb Ram DDR3 500GB Hard Drive (External drive is 1.5TB) Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/281547-need-help-with-mac-os-x-installing/#findComment-1841789 Share on other sites
