Ramun_Flame
Hi, I just got my asus laptop to dual boot with windows 8 and mountain lion using this great guide: http://www.insanelym...howtopic=280756 Now, I'd like to get my wireless working and sound, but am unsure how to do this. With some quick searching, I can't seem to find any information about getting intel wireless cards to work, and have found some people saying it's impossible. Are there any ways to get this to work, or do I need to get a new wireless card? If so, can you reccomend one? It must have bluetooth, scine I'm on a laptop, and don't want to take up a usb port with a dongle. Here are my specs: Asus G53SW-A1 Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.0GHz 8GB DDR3 1333 RAM 120GB Agility 3 SSD(I made a 30gb partition on this, the rest is a partition for windows 8) 750GB 7200RPM hard drive 1000GB 5400RPM hard drive NVIDIA GeForce GTX460M 1.5GB Intel Wi-Fi Card+ Bluetooth Internal 1920×1080 display Thank you in advance. Ramun_Flame
So, no one knows if the 6230 is compatible or of any cards that are compatible?
Foxic
AR5B195, Wifi/Bluetooth, half sized, mini PCI-E. The rest should be compatible. Not 100% sure on graphics.

Foxic
Could just google it, it's Realtek ALC269 though, to save you looking. Try googleing: Realtek ALC269 "mountain lion" (include the quotes), see what you can find.

Ramun_Flame
I got the audio to work using a version of voodoo.I bought that wireless card, and will install it and see if it works. Will I need any drivers for it, or should it work right away? I guess I'll find out soon enough... Thanks so much for the help so far. Foxic
I think you need a kext for it but it works fine in Lion in 64 bit so should be ok in ML. It's the same card I put in my brother's HP Probook so I have the kext for it somewhere. Let me know if you need a hand. (could also look for the HP Probook 4530s community at a certain site that won't be named, this card is the one they all use).
Ramun_Flame
Hey, I still didn't recieve the wireless card, but I have the DWA - 125 which is supposed to be compatible I think. I'd like to get internet working with the usb so I have internet this weekend, since I won't get the wireless card til next week. I've tried tons of programs and kexts to try and get it to work, but nothing seems to be making any progress. I've been to this site already. http://www.ralinktec...port.php?sn=502 Nothing seems to work, do I have the wrong usb, am I missing something, or is it not compatible with mountain lion? ------------------- Nevermind, I got it working. The driver just started working after a restart.
Foxic
Always rebuild caches and repair permissions after installing things like that. I never trust those installers, guaranteed they are a complete after-thought and badly written.
