xdanisx
I don't have access to my devices in Finder. I am using my Dell XPS L702x laptop and I have followed this guide here. I don't have access to everything here in red: NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY FINDER. I AM SIMPLY SHOWING THIS IMAGE TO SHOW YOU WHAT I AM MISSING. That means that I don't have access to the disk Lion is installed to, can't access S/L/E, can't access the root of my drive... I really can't access anything. What gives? BELOW IS MY INSTALLATION SO YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280935-my-finder-is-messed-up/ Share on other sites
rockinron_1
Looks like your on SL not lion to me (wrong place). nyolc8
BOOTCAMP drive on a PC? Also as rockinron_1 said, you are running snow leopard, not Lion. Or somehow you managed to run SLs Finder on Lion and that is the reason why it can't access to your drives Anyway, it clearly looks like you installed some Finder-addon thing. Try to remove that, and see if the problem is still present or not. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280935-my-finder-is-messed-up/#findComment-1836447 Share on other sites
xdanisx
That is not my Finder. How can I be showing you guys what I DON'T have if I DON"T HAVE IT? I googled Finder, used that image, and photo shopped a square around to show what I am missing. Would booting with -x be causing this? I have not entered the -x flag, however I followed this guide here. In the custom DSDT or something, -x might have been added? I've booted with -x in SL and I never had this problem. rlf
1. The picture you presented is of Path Finder, a Finder substitute. 2. Go to the Finder menu, select Preferences, then select Sidebar and make sure the items you want are checked. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280935-my-finder-is-messed-up/#findComment-1836489 Share on other sites
xdanisx
There we go! How could you tell that it was Path Finder, and what's the point for it if it's pretty much Finder only not as remotely useful?
