Cpt Klink
Hello all first off i will start on how i got my hackintosh working. First i used a retail copy of Snow Leopard 10.6.3 installed through USB Flash using ModUSB. Only using the bootflag -v to boot in to the installer (system specs are in my Sig). the rest of the install/updating i used step 3 and on ward from this guide http://www.insanelym...howtopic=253767. Well I got OSX updated to 10.6.8 and now i have it all up and running. Well Kinda up and running anyways. I seem to be having a problem with a lot of programs not running/closing. With an error saying "something quit unexpectedly" with options to click on saying Ignore, Report, and Reopen. I have tried clicking on reopen but keeps popping up with the same error. And i'm also getting a few errors during boot but it still boots up in to a working OSX. I will post my pics of the boot errors and the quitting errors and see if anybody can help with my situation. The Boot errors start at the very bottom of the 3rd pic. Also different boot errors in the 4th pic and the quit error info in the last pic Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280429-hello-new-guy-here-needing-a-little-help/ Share on other sites
Rampage Dev
Please do the following: 1. Do a clean install of 10.6.3 and reformat the drive before you reinstall. 2. List what kexts you are installing. 3. We will get a perfect running system of 10.6.3 then we can move to 10.6.8 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280429-hello-new-guy-here-needing-a-little-help/#findComment-1832235 Share on other sites
Cpt Klink
Actually I didn't install any kexts. Everything pretty much worked out of the box except for the video card. And that started working after I installed 10.6.8 combo update. The MSR errors only started happening after 10.6.7 combo update. I diden't test to see if I was having the quitting errors before I installed any updates tho. during the first install i left the custom options default i just removed the languages, printers and extra fonts. I also disabled the graphicsenabler and enabled the sleepenabler i also turned on rosetta I'm also wondering if i should try the Chameleon Bootloader or should i stick with the Chimera bootloader if i should switch to the Chameleon which version is best for me to use? Rampage Dev
You obviously installed kexts or you would never be able to boot. I can not trouble shoot without knowing what kexts you installed. You need to back trace your steps post install and find what kexts were installed. Post your entire extra folder so that I can also look at that. Stick to Chimera for now. Cpt Klink
Well other then the stock default kexts that where automatically chosen when i clicked on customization i choose sleepenabler, auto wired, voodoo HDA, Elliot RTC that was it during the initial install. During the 10.6.7 update i ran ###### and choose these options all system utilities, Bootloader: Chimera, Drivers and Bootloaders > Miscellaneous: ElliottforcelegacyRTC, EvOreboot, FakeSMC, NullCPUPowerManagement, System Definitions > Mac Pro: Mac Pro 5,1, Themes: tonymacx86 classic, OSx86 Software: All of them checked and that was all i used Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280429-hello-new-guy-here-needing-a-little-help/#findComment-1832400 Share on other sites

Cpt Klink
Well I have reinstalled OSX from fresh not using anything from Tonymac(and Tonymac won't help me because i'm useing AMD and not Intel they don't support AMD) right now i'm back to 10.6.3. Installed using a retail copy of OSX 10.6.3 with a flash drive using ModUSB with only using -v to boot in to the installer. I reformatted the drive and choose these options in the customization menu. Removed/disabled items- Printer Support, Additional Fonts, Language Translations, Graphicsenabler Added/installed items- X11, Rosetta, Legacy Kernel, ElliotLegacyRTC Fix, ApplePS2, AppleATIATA/AppleATIPATA, VoodooHDA, Autodetected Wired LAN Support, Sleepenabler That is all i have done and then clicked on ok and then installed on to the formatted drive then rebooted using ModUSB to boot in to the new OSX install again just using -v and now i'm here typing this. I have tested apps that weren't working before they are working now. From what I can tell everything is working normally right now. This is where i would need help if possible to get my Hackintosh updated to 10.6.8 or even 10.6.7 with everything working. Anybody have any ideas? Rampage Dev
OK, now I know were you stand. Lets extract your DSDT. Go to this link: http://rampagedev.wo...r-own-dsdt-3-2/ Then e-mail me that file. Next remove Voodoo HDA and I will patch it in the DSDT so that you can use AppleHDA. Stop worrying about updating until we know for sure the system is 100% stable at 10.6.3 which it is not at this time. Cpt Klink
When removing voodooHDA should i only need to remove the voodooHDA.kext or should i remove anything to do with audio like appleHDA and the prefpanes Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280429-hello-new-guy-here-needing-a-little-help/#findComment-1832496 Share on other sites

Rampage Dev
You will have to use ALC8xxHDA.kext for ALC892 and a patched AppleHDA.kext for ALC892 from 10.7.3 or 10.7.4 This will enable your audio since I was not sure where the edit for HDEF was meant to go on a AMD motherboard. What kext was not loading? Cpt Klink
Now just to find the proper kexts out of the quite a few i found. I'm pretty sure the kext that diden't load was something to do with netkas.fakesmc. And i just can't get the audio to work i have installed the kexts like you said but so far nothing Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280429-hello-new-guy-here-needing-a-little-help/#findComment-1832726 Share on other sites
