sweebez
I am using a Sony Vaio VGN-AR790UB. http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&partNumber=VGNAR790U/B#specifications So I can boot into the installer, no problem, but I get stuck because the installer doesn't detect any of my hard drives. Every other osx86 installer I've tried has recognized my hard drives except this one. I've read around that sometimes you have to mess with the BIOS sata settings, but my vaio has locked down everything in the BIOS so that's not happening. What should I do? My error screen: The same thing in Disk Utility: What should I do now? Funkoyote
Maybe your hard drives are in RAID mode? Can you disable RAID mode in BIOS? sweebez
They're different sizes and usually show up seperately and I've wiped them individually in OSX Journaled formatting, so could it still be raid? mrnico1977
There are usually ways to create a raid volume in the hardware controller of a device, this is often seperate to the bios but is accessed in a similar way when you are booting. If your disks were in raid and you have wiped them that doesnt mean the controller is not holding them in a volume (even if there is no data in that volume). I had a look around on teh key press to do this but couldnt find one, it could be in the manual. Seems like your bios is well and truly limited by Sony which is a shame... hope you can get past this!
