Hey guys I am using a dv8000t is anyone using that with mac enabled? well my internet wireless card is Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network w/Bluetooth does that work for JaS 1047? Also what about my graphics card? its a nvidia geforce go 7600 256 mem. If these dont work can someone please show me a fix or a workaround for this? Maybe if the intel doesnt work then what about a dlink DWL G650M card?

Thanks a million!

There are no drivers available for the 3945.

For the GeForce 7600, go to http://macvidia.starchaser.org

For the DWL-G650M, this is a PC Card with an Atheros chipset. I haven't heard of many PC Cards working. If you can determine the Vendor ID and Device ID, you can try to modify the Apple Atheros driver to see if it will work. Use the following Broadcom guide with some exceptions. The process for editing Atheros is the same as for editing Broadcom: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=23684

Except:

Edit the Atheros file:

sudo nano /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros5424.kext/Contents/Info.plist

where can i find the vendor id and device id? i cant seem to find anywhere

also the dell cards are only used with dell laptops and i think it is plugged internally which i have no knowledge of, is there another option that i can use from linksys dlink or any other brand?

See my previous post.

You can replace the 3945 with a Dell 1390 or 1450.

You CANNOT use the dell cards on HP's - they are NOT COMPATABLE with HP bios. I reccomend using vista until someone writes a driver for 3495abg - its only a matter of time

until someone writes a driver for 3495abg

I wouldn't hold my breath. With only a few exceptions, all of the drivers we are using on OSx86 are tweaks and modifications of Apple drivers. Apple will not be writing a 3945ABG driver. Most users can use the 1390 or 1450. The few remaining users are out of luck except for using a USB wireless device.

It will take quite an effort to write the 3945 driver. A bigger effort to keep updating it so that it works with each release of OSX. And if it is only benefiting a small number of users, it just isn't time or cost effective.

Belkin F5D7050 ver 2,3, and 4 Wireless USB all work good. I have a v2. Just a warning the only way to check what version it is, is on the box near the UPC so make sure you check before you buy because version 1 will not work!

It's a secret to Apple's success...

Keep variation of hardware to a minimum and have far less drivers to write...

Also speeds up the OS...

This is a single FLAW in LINUX...having to create drivers for so many PCs.

It's sad but Rammjet is a messiah when it comes to this stuff...
