Hello! I am a total newbie to the world of osx86, but I'm no stranger to building PCs, or using Mac OS. My current setup at home is an aging AMD dual core WinXP box that I built myself, and an i7 MacBook Pro. I've just ordered the parts to upgrade my old XP box into an i7 hackintosh. Very excited!

I chose the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 motherboard as it seems to be well-suited. I would like to know if the onboard video works for Lion. I have a Radeon HD4830 video card in my old PC and I can repurpose that, but I'm not planning on playing games, so if the onboard video works well enough then I'd rather just go with that and not deal with the fan noise/power use.

It should work. Extremely important is the choice of CPU, not all the graphics cards are supported.

Intel HD 3000 works

Intel HD 2000 not works

Intel HD 2500 / 4000 not yet ??

I ordered the i7 2600K, which has the HD 3000 according to the spec sheet. So I should be good to go! Awesome news, thanks.
