mjanek20
Hi all, First of all I apologize for such a stupid question which most of you probably know the answer right away ... I have 2 systems on separate HDDs: - One is OSX 10.6.3 (iAtkos distro) - the other (worse;) Win7. My Win7 went into zombie mode (a virus or something) and I was unable to revive it. I decided to reinstall it and forgotten to unplug the OSX one which I nomally do in such a case. Win7 of course wiped the loader leaving me in a state that I cannot boot into Mac again. Is there a possibility to recover from this situation? Please help. cowfish
I had this same problem a while back.. your boot loader is probably still there. Try unplugging the windows drive and see if you can get into OSX.. If not you might want to boot your computer with myHack or something to get into OSX and reinstall the boot loader, and use fdisk to make sure your OSX partition is active. Also, I'm not sure if this affects anything but you should probably have your mac hd plugged into the lower number ports. Like on your motherboard have OSX plugged into SATA_0 and Windows on SATA_1. Not sure if it matters, but it seems worth a try lol. But don't lose hope you should definitely be able to sort this out. Shaneee
Download a Mod CD like nawcoms and boot from there to your Mac and run the chameleon wizard tool or the boot loader you use. bigpoppa206
Is your Mac hard drive the first boot drive? Check your BIOS. It should be, since the bootloader for the Mac will also allow you to boot Windows. I am running Chameleon as my bootloader and it works fine.
