3degree
I've got an ASUS P8P67 Pro MOBO. I've started up with a REGAE'S bootloader, installed the retail Snow Leopard OSX, installed the 10.6.8 updates with Regae's before and after updates and then put on Andyboot's P8P67 Pro pckg. I've had to fight for days to get past the boot:0 error and boot:0 done hang. I was originally on a WD green but am now on a Seagate Barracude 500gb with same results. But I finally got it to boot to the HDD. Now it boots to the hdd BUT hangs up on the apple screen with the spinning disk and will not fully boot the Operating system. I can boot with the bootloader and get to the Snow Leopard disk. I have working sound. I have an ethernet connection, although it hangs up searching once I get past the original page load. I have a Gigabyte GV-N56GOC-1GI GTX 560. I don't have any choices in the display sections..... I have installed the NVIDIA CUDA pckg for the Mac. But I can't install ###### 4.3's support for GTX5xx cards as it looks like this is only for Lion. And i don't see a Mac driver for the GTX 560's...... I'm running 16GB RAM with an i7 2600k. So how do I fix it so that it fully boots....? Any suggestions for getting past the hang up screen? I searched and most of the posts I found are related to the apple screen hanging at the bootloader, not once the OSX has been installed. Thanks for your help in advance! rockinron_1
If its hanging after the logo has been spinning but appears to boot then its most likely your graphics drivers that are causing your problem. Boot with -v and give us a screenshot of when it stops and we might be able to confirm / help you more. Googleing "GTX560 snow leopard" leads to numerous results pointing to it only being supported under lion; a u n i b e a s t & andyboot install of lion will be perfect on that board so why not go with lion? Your boot:0 error is most likely coming from your WDC-green having a 4096-byte allocation sector. If you haven't fixed it heres how: http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/02/hackintosh-boot0-error.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/278153-hangs-at-boot-up/#findComment-1813600 Share on other sites
3degree
Yeah, finally got the fdisk and dd boot1h install in terminal to allow me to boot the operating system from the HDD. I'm using a Seagate Barracuda 500GB but was still having the issue after the switch from the WD Green. I will try putting in the -v command. RRon-all the guides I see require a functioning version of Snow Leopard to install Lion- which I don't have..... 3degree
Without a working Mac OSX installation, I won't even be able to download Lion from the Mac App store to even think about an installation! rockinron_1
Ok then so download iAtkos L2 (pirate bay). Burn it to a disc & boot it up (takes a while). If you need to convert the .dgm to .iso a quick google will return converters for doing so. Install it with the minimal options. Don't select any audio / graphics / network kexts, it will boot to a basic desktop but have basically no hardware support - doesn't matter since we only want to use it to create this: ####### Download mac os x lion installer app from a torrent site (pay for it once you get up and running if you feel guilty about it) and create your u n i b e a s t installer. Now install lion and start to work getting your devices working (m u l t i b e a s t etc)... Or if you don't want to install iatkos to create the u n i b e a s t installer then I'm sure you could find a ready made virtual machine of os x somewhere and create it through that. I've just set up 2 PC's and a laptop as hackintosh's. One of which has the p8p67pro mobo in it and when i started i didn't have access to a mac to make the u n i b e a s t installer so hats how i did it. Now there all running app store installs created with u n i b e a s t... If you haven't fixed it heres how: http://www.macbreake...oot0-error.html I ran ###### again and reinstalled Lion. I then ran the P8P67 Pro installer package......and got a working bootable HDD OS X (after fixing the boot:0 errors again). I got working ethernet connection/internet, but sound was not working. I had to run ###### again to put on the ALC892 and get the sound working. I also could not get my NVidia GTX 560 working to get options in the display. I put on the graphics package from ###### and marked the graphicsenabler=yes for the andy boot up screen with no luck. I updated to 10.7.3, reinstalled chimera 1.9.1 from the ###### installer and with graphicsenabler=yes, I now have a working set of display options too. Woohooo! After a couple of weeks of trying to figure this all out and futzing with it, it looks like I have a working usable Hackintosh!
