tommykent1210
I have a 9800GT (nVidia) in my system and I can't for the life of me get it enabled. I had this issue in another thread (along with a multitude of others that made the thread a real mess) so i decided to post it in it's own topic. System info reports: Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0614 Revision ID: 0x00a2 That is it, nothing else. Any ideas? Or should I just hold out and buy a GTX 550Ti? Thanks Tom

tommykent1210
ok, I used an 8800GT rom found in another thread and OSX now actually recognises the card. However, it doesn't seem to use it, or see the VRAM properly? On boot I get "rom file i0de_0614.rom larger than expected: Truncating to x_10000 bytes". Also, System report says I have "1mb" of VRAM, when the card has 1 gig. In my chameleon.boot.plist I have: <key>Boot Graphics</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1080x32</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>No</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>No</string> <key>UseNvidiaROM</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>VBIOS</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>npci</key> <string>0x2000</string>
C.Frio
Hi my references are the addresses I wrote.. I should remove the "<key>UseNvidiaROM</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>VBIOS</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>npci</key> <string>0x2000</string>" install the chameleon wizard and check the boot plist there after remove..if you boot..... c.frio

rlf
Make sure /System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV50Hal.kext/Contents/Info.plist has proper device/vendor id in it 0x061410de or whatever it is now that you have flashed it.
tommykent1210
Even with that I get: Chipset Model: GeForce 9800 GT Type: GPU Bus: PCIe Slot: Slot-1 PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 1 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0614 Revision ID: 0x00a2 ROM Revision: 0x00 No output to DVI or VGA. Havent Tried HDMI but I seriously doubt it would work.
rlf
Have you tried NVEnabler64.kext placed into /S/L/E/? This often works when GraphicsEnabler=Yes doesn't.
