sirbow2
you are AWESOME! you know why? because you posted a picture of the error look in your bios settings for any AHCI/IDE settings and set them to AHCI mode if currently on IDE mode. or maybe they are already on AHCI mode, and only IDE mode will work... try it out and report back Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277999-snow-leopard-hazard-kernel-panic/#findComment-1812531 Share on other sites
nna2
yeah ive been set to ahci mode, windows is on raid atm, so if i leave it as is, it gives a still waiting for root device.. but anyways too add on ive used the boot options -v -x busratio=20 cpus=1(or 2) and -amd Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277999-snow-leopard-hazard-kernel-panic/#findComment-1812664 Share on other sites
nna2
could it perhaps be the kernel? ive tried loading another one but i cant find a list of included ones (if there even is lol) anywhere Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277999-snow-leopard-hazard-kernel-panic/#findComment-1812727 Share on other sites
sirbow2
i havent used raid before, but i think OSX might need some extra kexts for it. maybe unplug your raid quick and throw in a single HDD to see what happens. try ide mode too. sirbow2
NOOOO!!! lol try a different distro, or go with a custom retail isntall. here is some info on OSX and raid installs(for 10.7 but prob the same for 10.6) http://www.osx86.net/10-7-lion/11831-easy-raid-install-10-7-lion.html your mobo definitely works: http://www.osx86.net...-fx-6100-a.html try this: http://www.osx86.net...do=file&id=1070 and do some more of your OWN research Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277999-snow-leopard-hazard-kernel-panic/#findComment-1812957 Share on other sites
Shaker
ah well i guess i'll just stick with windows for now don't lose hope bro, it took me about a month to get os X working correctly on my machine. for your issue: try the flag "mach_kernel" without quotes.. ehh also i was told that the ram can sometimes cause problems if it's more than 4gb. try removing the extra sticks->install->then put them back. good luck Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277999-snow-leopard-hazard-kernel-panic/#findComment-1812979 Share on other sites
sirbow2
You don't have to take out the extra mem, just use maxmem=4096 flag. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277999-snow-leopard-hazard-kernel-panic/#findComment-1812985 Share on other sites
