Genix
I have an IDE hard drive that is formatted in HFS+ but doesn't show up in OSX. If I go into disk utility I see it there but it is not mounted and won't allow me to mount it. If I format it to HFS+ (while in disk utility) I will be able to use the hard drive but when I log out or reboot it becomes unmountable again. Any ideas? JaS
In disk utility highlight the drive not the partition, and select erase. That should totally repartition the drive and format it HFS+
Genix
Yeah just tried that but it didn't work after a restart.

mcfresh
why do u need an extra HFS+ partitioned drive? U could easily use a FAT32 partition. i know thats no solution to your problem, but it might be as good.
Genix
Because FAT32 also does not show up.
Genix
Bump. I'm using a FAT32 partitioned drive now. The drive shows up in Win XP and Linux.
