Bobert01 Posted February 20, 2012 Share Posted February 20, 2012 Hello im bobert im really really sorry if this post seems completely stupid to you however well ive seen loads of post but no one/none cleared it up for me. the thing is that finder app is x64 only yes understood. but then whats this about having a posible patched kernel and osinstall.mpkg and trying it again ? i have a post asking for help already but none posted back to me its http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=274685&hl=&fromsearch=1 i have got very close but the boot screen goz gray.. i have previously installed "iATKOS L1 + L2" on another machine and i checked in system profiler and arch was x86 or 32bit so why will it not work on the P4 machine ? (also understood is the fact we need sss3 and p4 has ss3 ) however my machine is a HT P4 (hyper threading i believe) so are we sure it cannot work ? i am not bother if its slow or choppy i just would really love to have it working. i have restored my RIG to this 4 partitions on a 200GB HDD (50GB each) part 1 Mac Os x 10.6.8 part 2 Windows 7 SP1 part 3 Linux Ubuntu 10.04.3 or something like that (LTS) part 4 Free Space (FAT32) - potential lion install RIG is north south chip set VIA GPU Nvidia GeForce 9800GT 2GB ram chip speed 3.59 GH'z aka 3.6 gh'z 2 CD dvd roms (1 external dvd DL rom drive and 1 internal IDE DVD RW drive) i dont use the ide drive ever to install but it is read by mac as a working drive but its ide so causes complications when installing so i avoid it and use the USB external drive . please help me by clearing this up can i or can i not install Lion on my machine and if i can how should i go about it what guide should i use its really confusing ? and thank you to anyone that can help, please do leave helpful comments i have as ive said seen others trying it to but they've not either completed it or posted back.
