Palmq
I've complete the install of OSX86 but after the install and regionchoose you will click done! But after that is it only the mouse pointer left, and nothing happen. It's the same ater reboot: It come a window with "Loading Mac OSx" and it goes to 100%, the window closes and I'm there again. What to do? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/27570-mac-bluescreen-after-install-and-region-choose/ Share on other sites
Foxman98
I was just about to post about this, as I have the exact same thing! I installed fine, rebooted, selected region, network setup, that disappears and now I just have the mouse pointer on a blue screen. No hard disk activity either? MSI Neo Board Pentium D 915 1 GB DDR2 Ram 1 SATA 250 GB - Windows XP 1 IDE 60 GB - Mac OSX on 1st 10 GB partition Booting to OS X via Windows Bootloader and chain0. Anyone know what to do? This is the 2nd install, it did the same thing last time, I thought a re-install would help. Please advise! Thanks! Guest bikedude880
I'm kinda curious what patches you selected when you did the install, as that can produce this effect. Foxman98
Just rebooted, now when I get the point where I select keyboard layout, I select "US" click continue and I'm getting the "busy" icon..... Just the SSE3 patch, and something about Jazba decrypting, it was marked as required for Intel systems. BTW - This is the 2nd install disc this has happened on. It is the "Jas" disc. 10.4.6. Guest bikedude880
I do not believe the Pentium D supports SSE3. Try selecting the SSE2 patch along with the 10.4.7 (or 10.4.6) patch only and do the install with just those. Hiro_
Do you use the last Jas DVD for installation? Because i downloaded it too, and after installation i get the same trouble, then i installed once again using JAS 10.4.6 DVD and the troubles is finished. Foxman98
According to CPU-Z, the Pentium D 915 does in fact have SSE3. Well, if that is so, then my Pentium D 805 must have SSE3... wait... no it doesn't! Every prog I've used to find out this info (including a couple Linux distros based on the 2.6.17 kernel) confirm this. The 900 series might actually have this. I would however recommend trying an install with the SSE2 patch, just to see what happens. Foxman98
Uhh, yes it does. OK so I rebooted again, and this time I got as far as creating a user accont, setting a password, and clicking done. Now it's sitting with circle of bars spinning.... The weird thing is, when I reset the computer, the IDE drive on which Max OS X is isntalled, seems as if it has completely spun down, IE I can hear it spin up. Are there any issues with the drive shutting off? Now it gets even stranger..... Rebooted again, Voila, it completely loads! Open up Safari, all of a sudden everything on the screen disappears and all I get is the blue background with the "circle bars" in the bottom rotating.... Foxman98
Read my comment in posting #7. I know, I didn't install that patch, I just remember something in the "description" field about decrypt. Going into System Preferences and turning off "put hard disk to sleep immediately" seemed to help. I get tons of crashes in almost all applications though. Maybe it is the SSE3 thing? But the Pentium D915 DOES support SSE3?
