axn
http://www.osx86.net..._begin_fix.html Thanks for the link. Sorry to ask as I am quite new in this and have little knowledge on Mac OS. How do I add this kext since I am unable to access ? Is there a way to load USB/CD in ##### and copy the file into the HDD? Gringo Vermelho
Boot from your installation media with the kext on a flash drive or other HDD, run Terminal and copy the kext to /Volumes/[nameofOSXVolume]/System/Library/Extensions. Then fix permissions and rebuild the caches: chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/[nameofOSXVolume]/System/Library/Extensions chmod -R go=u-w /Volumes/[nameofOSXVolume]/System/Library/Extensions touch /Volumes/[nameofOSXVolume]/System/Library/Extensions/ and reboot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275601-help-hang-at-apple-logo-screen/#findComment-1793842 Share on other sites
axn
Thanks for the tip. I decided to install a fresh copy instead. After update to 10.6.8, I installed the fix above before rebooting. So far so good. Let see how it goes. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275601-help-hang-at-apple-logo-screen/#findComment-1794457 Share on other sites
MacFaulty
Just a question or additional info. I thought that the PCI Configuration Begin is fixed when you add npci=0x2000 ? Gringo Vermelho
It is for most people. Some people recommend trying 3000 instead of 2000. Look for more hints in the 10.6.8 update release thread in the new releases and updates forum, that's where the issue first surfaced. axn
I tried both 2000 and 3000 doesnt work. Actually I was so focus on thinking how to access the HDD that I forgot to use the ##### CD to boot into the Snow Leopard installation DVD and access the terminal. It was after I wipe the HDD and refer to ##### + ##### installation Guide then only notice that.
