ThaSoulHacker
I downloaded and copyed the "tiger-x86-flat.img" using DD and put it on my USB 2.0 Hard Drive. Everything went smoothly. Call me a newbie or whatever, but I had some valuable information on the Hard Drive and didn't copy it over to a different hard drive before copying the image. I've booted up windows XP again and the USB 2.0 HD doesn't appear. Paragon Drive Backup 6.0 shows the drive is split in two although I never did partition it. One has the 6 gig OSX x86 and the other is supposedly blank. Is there any way to get my information back? Do I need to remove OSX x86 in order to access it again and if so how do I go about doing so safely? Any help would be great. Thanks. Zeph
The flat.img contains a partition table and in doing the DD you overwrote ALL DATA on the first 6GB of the drive, anything after 6GB MIGHT be recoverable, good luck. Wise words are, if you dont know exactly what you are doing, dont do it!!! judy
If the data were really important, and chances are all or part of them resided after the first 6 GB, take the disk out and take it to someone who really knows what he's doing. Otherwise, kiss your data goodbye. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2755-hd-information-recovery/#findComment-17770 Share on other sites
