after the OSX installation, is there anyway i can install Win XP SP3 onto another 500gb HDD, I've tried a few methods, setting the BIOS to IDE mode.

It kept asking for space on my OSX HDD drive to copy setup files. It wouldn't show the partitions made in OSX, so id have to wipe the whole 1tb drive to install XP.

Then i tried removing the HDD with OSX installed from the tower, and XP installed fine to the fresh HDD, but then after adding the old HDD, it will not boot at all from darwin, just shows a flashing "_".

And making the device boot priority higher in BIOS didn't help, XP just BSODs and restarts after the windows logo…

Currently running Lion & SL on a 1tb HDD. (Both are RETAIL, as is the XP disk)

4gb RAM

3.4ghz i7

Gigabyte UD Mobo (Not sure what model)

Darwin bootloader

did you try with the Mainboard - BOOT - MENU via F12 ?

i have 3 different OS's on 3 HD's and i always use F12 and choose from which HD i want to boot !

with this Method you can always reinstall without messing up your other OS's or wasting time with MultiBoot !

or you can also try this http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Chain0 ! < --- this will only work with XP and not W7 !

I manged to figure out that XP wont run/install with AHCI on in bios, and os x wont run on IDE, i had to route around for AHCI SATA drivers compatible with my mobo.

But i allready installed XP in IDE mode, so then figured out how to inject them into my current install.

Pretty painfull, it works in ahci great now.

Except im actually running chameleon 2.0, and it wont boot XP, i just get a blinking cursor. I have to change the disk order in bios to get it to boot. Ill let you know if i find anything more.

Managed to get chameleon booting, downloaded an installable version of chameleon rc5.

Made a small partition on my XP HDD after XP, made sure xp was the first hard drive in the computer. Installed chameleon to the partition.

I found that after installing chameleon and restarting i couldn't get into it to configure the plist anymore, so you have to do it before testing it.
