Andrey
I'll admit, this was a nail-biter. I'd read horror story after horror story of failed/mangled 10.4.7 upgrades and I was very apprehensive about abandoning my perfectly functioning 10.4.6 build - and I was too lazy to image the whole 120GB drive to provide fault tolerance. But I'm happy to say that with the help of the available AMD updater and Semjaza files I was able to flawlessly breeze through the upgrade process. This victory includes Quicktime 7.1.3 and iTunes 7, both of which I updated before installing 10.4.7. The net effect on my system experience has been very good. Although my Hardware tab in System Profiler displays an error message, everything else on the system is functional, and I'm proud to say I'm GeekBenching a 234.7 -- you'll note that's HIGHER than a 2.00GHz Mac Pro by 2 points! Anyhow, enough bragging, I hope this serves as a ray of hope for the AMD folk skiddish about upgrading to .7. Cheers UPDATE: GeekBench now at 314.5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/27524-success-athlon-x2-running-1047itunes-7qt-713/ Share on other sites

Andrey
Sure thing: With JaS 10.4.6 running, I updated QuickTime to 7.1.3, then installed iTunes 7. If you're looking for a more detailed installation history let me know. With the components I have in my system, there's surprisingly little to do as far as tweaking. macprodan
Im pretty sure that when i disabled Quartz all the stuttering goes away, i personally think its a Graphic Prob and not a Cpu Problem.. Someone else test this for me.. Andrey
Are u using both cores and you arent'getting heavy stutter problems due to the TSC running desynched ? I'm using both cores. QE/CI/Q2DX enabled. the idlehalt =0 flag is my only mod to the boot.plist file. If I don't use idlehalt, stuttering persists.
