Derek12
I have 2 USB keys, 1x 4 GB and 1x 2GB I can't get a 8 GB right now, would it be possible to divide the Lion disk to 2 parts using these two USB keys? I am running it on a Virtual machine right now. Thanks
neomatrix125
Nah that's not possible, all of the packages must be on the same partition as the base system. The Base System files themselves are only about 250mb but thats just core OS X so the package files are the real gravey which are about 4GB in size. It's easier to get an external hard drive or a new USB drive, 8GB drives are pretty cheap now anyways...
Derek12
Many thanks, here the 8 GB keys are more expensive. I tried to mount a physical partiution to my VM and follow the same guide as a USB drive, but the computer reboots right after booting to the partition does anyone know why? Maybe I will just stop fiddling with it and use the Virtual machine which it just works fine.
