4HM3R
Hello, I followed this guide http://www.tonymacx8...=232859#p232859 and installed lion. I then got the appropriate sound drivers to work through #####. However, my Ethernet driver is the Realtek RTL8111D and when I use lyx2mac's ReaktekRTL81xx.kext it does not work. Also, when I try to access network under system preferences, the beach ball just spins (freezing the system preferences window). As a result the only option I then have is to force quit. Is this normal? Also under system information it says that my Ethernet card is unrecognized. I have a Evga x58 sli le, or a 141-BL-E757-TR X58 Help appreciated :S Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/273846-network-dead-after-vanilla-install/ Share on other sites
Jugz
Sounds like it did not install right. Find the kext in /System/Library/Extensions/RealtekRTL81xx.kext and delete it. Put this file on a flash drive to copy to desktop: RealtekRTL81xx-0_0_90.pkg.zip Then restart computer and boot back into Lion. Unzip and install file and restart again. Should be working. If not, after you delete .kext repair permissions then repeat above. Hope this works. -Jugz Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/273846-network-dead-after-vanilla-install/#findComment-1788442 Share on other sites
