dambrow
hello all i am having a bit or trouble installing iatkos v7 on my pc. i first boot up in verbose mode (command -v) as i have better look in verbose and during boot up it states that it is unable to mount /dev/disk0 error 0x0000000047 /dev/disk1 error 0x0000000047 /dev/disk2 error 0x0000000047 /dev/disk5 error 0x0000000047 once the disk loads up i select disk ultilty and try to manual mount disk5 i get an error saying to try and run first aid first then try again. so after clicking on first aid i find out the the options are greyed out and i connot perform the action. i then proceed to format thinking if it can format it i should be able to mount it and be ok. i select mac os journaled and click erase. it looks fine preparing to erase then finishes but i find out that the partion is now a RAW and is still unable to mount. i have windows installed on disk1 and used windows to create the new partion. after a few fail attempts i used easus partion manager to format the partion as ext 3 but still wont format the partion when booted from iatkos what is going on i have never had any trouble installing it on my old mb witch was a pentium D dual core @ 3.40GHz with 3GB of DDR 2 ram and a cheap basic foxconn mb my current specs and the computer i am having trouble with is ASUS M5A78L-MUSB3 AMD Athlon II X4 640 @3.0GHz 4GB DDR3 RAM ATI radeon HD 3000 1GB video card (connected via HDMI) Realtek 8111E PCIe Gb LAN AMD 760G(780L)/SB710 Chipset VIA VT1708S 8-channel high definition Codec many thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/272128-unable-to-mount-first-aid-or-format-a-partition/ Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
Low level format the drive with tools issued by the drive manufacturer. Seagate offers Seatools which can run from Windows or from a bootable CD. Other manufacturers will have similar tools for download.
