svas
I am currently running windows 8 pre-beta and want to dual boot with Mac SL preferably, but any version will work for now 10.5..., I 've download Kalyway 10.5.1/2 (as its best for Dell 520) match the MD's it matched, but all I see in the iso are 2 to 3 files of few KB's? is it because am in a windows environment, but what that has to do with iso, I mean aren't they isolated and independent? How to install kalyway or any other from usb? boot install. Don't 've a optical device. Please suggest any good and latest x86 install for my system, which I don't have to update, as I am next to bad at kernel and all, System spec.s are standard. P4 540 3.2 HT/ 775LGA Dell board 0WG233 Bios updated/ D945 in intel series for drivers and all, 1GB DDR2 Standard build in Graphics and Audio/ Network, Thanks. LatinMcG
theres tools to burn .dmg in windows one of them is transmac.. dunno if it would work with usb tho. best to burn the kalyway to a dvr 4.7gb then use that to make it boot osx then u can make a usb 10.6 install disk with /Extra/dsdt.aml patched for dimension 520 and smbios.plist faking properly imac9,1 or imac10,1 or macpro3,1 and /Extra/Extensions/fakesmc.kext problem sometimes is p4 has no sse3 so might have to do a mod kernel. (find the dimension 520 snow 10.6 guide) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/271986-install-mac-from-usb/#findComment-1770514 Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
problem sometimes is p4 has no sse3 No that's not it, Prescott and Presler core P4 and P4 based Pentium D's have SSE3 and they can't use an unpatched kernel either. This version of Chameleon has built-in kernel patching that allows you to run the vanilla kernel on a Pentium 4. It only works with arch=i386 though. Source code here.
