2500k + p8h67-m pro + hd3000 graphics = Horrible nightmare :(

Hello everyone. First time poster here and having a nightmare trying to get lion to run on a 2500k and p8h67-m pro using the hd3000 graphics. I am using a usb hdd for the mac operating system.

 

After many many... many hours wasted, i have finally managed to install lion on the usb hdd and it runs fine... ONLY when i boot it in safe mode -x. When i try to boot it normally, i get loads of errors about kexts

 

"kext xxx failed to load" "kext load request buffer from user space still retained by a kext, probable memory leak"

 

I've googled for solutoions for hours but the few people with the same problem haven't been able to solve it. This is so painful

 

I ran [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] whilst in safe mode and installed [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] and mini mac 5.1 setup. In "about" it does detect the graphics card as "hd3000 intel", so i'm even more confused now as to what is making the system not work without safe mode as i thought it was the hd3000, but i don't think it is anymore.

Have you tried just running 'repair permissions' from disk utility?

Ok 1st Ive always had problems running osx off an external.

Put it IN your system on port 1 of your sata connections.

 

2nd seeing all those penryn and nehalem profile errors makes me think you might not have a good smbios plist in your extra folder that matches your system processor
