redwood36
Hello there, I have a problem wherein Parallels isn't recognizing that Hardware virtualization has been enabled. Im running an i7 920 on a p6t deluxe v2 and to the extent of my knowledge it is enabled. Not only that, I never had this problem in SL. Is there a problem within Lion somewhere that needs to be fixed? Thanks! secondary issue: When I tell the bootloader not to load off the cache, I receive the error " still waiting for hard drive", even though with the cache on it works fine. Im assuming this is a problem and as such I'd like to fix it. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks! neil43
I see that currently Parallels 6 doesn't run under 10.7. This is from a google on the subject. And I can not speak to your boot loader issue. You would need to identify what you are using and your installation configuration. neil Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/271168-parallels-not-recognizing-hardware-virtualization/#findComment-1765425 Share on other sites
Noam AA
uninstall completely and install the latest version, this was known with some versions not loading the kext for parallels and if you updated to 10.7.2 and created an mkext using the commend here, then you might get the 'still eating for root device" if you remove it it will be ok. Regarding what I am using and my install configuration, I forget what I had used. How can I identify it? Noam AA, Thanks for the advice Noam AA, what command should I use? Is there a link I should know about? Thanks! Additionally, I have tried reinstalling a bunch of times. neil43
Well I can not advise from experience as I don't own Parallels. I am a VMware Fusion user and still on the 3.x version which works well with both LINUX and Win XP Pro virtual machines under Lion all versions so far. neil Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/271168-parallels-not-recognizing-hardware-virtualization/#findComment-1765896 Share on other sites
Noam AA
in the DMG file there is uninstall icon. don't try to reinstall the current version cause you may not have the latest version, double check if it's the latest, after uninstalling, restart first, then install the newest, then restart again, it should work this time, if it still persist, i have 2 other things that might work for you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/271168-parallels-not-recognizing-hardware-virtualization/#findComment-1765913 Share on other sites
