danielepach
hi everyone! I have a big problem with my videocard since I've updated my hackintosh to Snow leopard 10.6.8(64 bit). Up to 10.6.6(32 bit) my pc has never had a problem. Problems with my Nvidia card have started when I've update to 10.6.8. My video card is a Gainward GTX260 896MB Golden Sample My leopard randomly freezes and black bands appear on the screen ( See Image below) , so I must to force restart of my PC. Sometimes several glitches appear on the screen ( See Image below). I've tried a lot of methods to solve these problems but I've never succeded. I've tried: -only GraphicsEnabler set to Yes. -only Nvenabler -only Efi strings -I have installed Nvidia drivers for 10.6.8 -I've installed Cuda Drivers. -Put video card id on nvidia kext. -I've repaired permissions. My actual configuration: -GPU Driver Version: 1.6.37.0 (256.02.25f01) -CUDA Driver Version: 4.0.50 -Graphics accelleration seems to work( front row works, there are effects in dashboard and my top bar is trasparent) -Efi strings ( I've generated it with the rom file created with GPU-Z. And then I used NVCAP maker.) -My com.apple.boot.plist is: <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>legacy_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-force64 arch=i386 -v cpus=3</string> <key>Theme</key> <string>Default</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>6c0200000100000001000000600200000d00000002010c00d041030a 000000000101060000020101060000007fff04001e00000072006f006d002d0072 00650076006900730069006f006e0000002e0000006e5669646961204765466f72 63652047545820323630204f70656e474c20456e67696e65205b4546495d220000 00400030002c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b00 0000646973706c6179100000004e00560043004100500000001800000004000000 000007000800000000000007000000000e0000006e0061006d00650000000b0000 00646973706c617914000000400030002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e 5644412c446973706c61792d41100000006d006f00640065006c0000001a0000006 e5669646961204765466f72636520475458203236300e0000004e00560050004d00 000020000000010000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0014000000400031002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e5644412c446973 706c61792d4220000000400031002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c0 0650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d6163220000005600520041004d002c0074 006f00740061006c00730069007a006500000008000000000000382000000040003 0002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c00650000000e0000004e5644412 c4e564d616322000000400031002c006400650076006900630065005f0074007900 7000650000000b000000646973706c61791c0000006400650076006900630065005 f00740079007000650000000f0000004e5644412c506172656e74</string> Can someone help me??? kitmac
Make sure your Power supply has enough juice to push your card. I have an MSI gtx 260 OC and i have to underclock in winblows just to run games because my PS is only 500W. danielepach
Make sure your Power supply has enough juice to push your card. I have an MSI gtx 260 OC and i have to underclock in winblows just to run games because my PS is only 500W. I have a 550W power on my Pc. But Under windows my video card was always perfect! I could play all videogames with my nvidia in Windows. I've also observed that my video card often crashes when I'm seeing youtube videos. Hackintosh2000
I don't know what to tell you. I have an Nvidia GTCX 260 896 MB and it runs fine with GraphicsEnabler=Yes. It works on every version of SL and Lion since 10.6.3 Retail. Frankly I found it to be the most trouble free graphics card bar none. I keep my fingers crossed waiting for the day Cupertino rains on my parade. Sorry for your woes. CJamesC
All I did to get full QE/CI with my NVidia GTX 260 was add GraphicsEnabler=Yes as a boot flag.
