Lost in Linux
Hallo everyone! My lowly zv6000 has not been as successful as others I've seen, even. The pinnacle of my problems stems from the PS/2 Keyboard and Touchpad. Whenever I boot 10.4.6 myziso (or whatever its called... i forgot the exact name) it simply wont boot UNLESS I attach USB keyboard and mouse. I do the verbose thingy and it tells me "Times out on keyboard input string" or the like. I fiugre I'd have a good shot at fixing the remaining problems with my installation if I could just fix this problem and see how it works without the almighty VMWare. Unfortunately all the forums and drivers I've tried have either be ineffecive or made it so the mouse and keyboard dont even work in VMWare. Oh, and as I type my specs below, I realized something. For some reason if I install the Base System, AMD SSE2, and SemJa AMD Decrypts, it calls a kernel panic whenever I try and boot, both in VMWare and natively. If anyone has any ideas on that, that would be lovely too. Here are my specs: 10.4.6 Myziso Image --> Installed with little problem. 100 GB HDD ATI Radeon XPress 200M graphics card 512 MB RAM, not sure which type SSE, SSE2 Capable AMD Athlon 64 bit processor 3200+ Tri boot Windoes, Fedora Core Linux, OSX86 Cheers :pirate2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/27095-touchpad-and-mouse-problms-on-a-hp-zv6000-w-1046/ Share on other sites
Rayan
Have you tried other isos like the one in my signature? There's one called ISO that even allows native install without VMware (made by JAS) sorry forgot the correct name.
