NFS94
The Hazard 10.6.6i disks didnt really work well for me since i have an amd but since you have an intel processor, it might work for you. if it doesnt work... i suggest you start with the iatkos s3 v2 snow leopard disk. you can find that on google. if you cant boot it up, try booting with a Nawcom ModCD. and try lookin around the forum or even youtube for a guide. PookyMacMan
I wouldn't use a distro if I were you. They tend to have plenty of problems, not to mention you can't use Apple's OS Updates. I would purchase a retail disk or, if you don't have money and you don't care about legality, download a retail disk. The Nawcom ModCD (now known as OSx86 ModCD) is what you can use to boot the retail disk. I wrote a guide here using the OSx86 ModCD. If you keep getting kernel panics, post the panic and you will get more help on this. NFS94
Sure it is possible. download the image. nd use a 4.7gb disk download Daemon Tools. Mount the image to disk. http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/announce… Download DvDDecrypter - http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ Designate the output location (where you want them to be when they're done). Decrypt the the files. Then download DvD2one - http://www.dvd2one.com/ This program compresses the files to be able to fit on the disk. Then load your burning software and load the files into it. Korean
"Files" meaning the Kexts? Haha, I'm pretty confused, I'm a noob to this... PookyMacMan
I believe he means all the files on the disc. The reason why it is 8GB is because it requires a dual-layer DVD, as I believe all SL discs (including iAtkos) are. There are downsides for running a distro, the main one being you cannot use Apple's OS updates, but there are other factors that make running a distro extremely unstable. A retail installation is much, much more stable. I'm not sure if you can compress the files, since the packages and other files are already compressed, but you can try NFS94's method. Personally, if I were you, I would just go and buy a pack of dual-layer DVDs. Hangten
"The Intel Pentium processor P6200 is based on Westmere" duno but the kernal for this might be tricky? IMO Review Lion OSX is your best bet and for guides to learn from tonymac86 or myHack I would treat it as an i3 install and try reading up what version supports it and try with a vanilla install on another Mac or VM using windblows. I don't think unless you know what bus ratio and booting with one core would help so thats why vanilla might be easier. You can set up your disk using transmac or macdrive placing the correct "boot" that recognizes your hardware and adjust the "Extra" folder in Windows and 10.6.8 might be your ticket Its not something for the faint hearted to take on a Hackintosh from scratch!!! so atleast your trying and thats gold! Once you get all the pieces upgrading to Lion is cake. Goodluck! Korean
I thought that you needed to have Snow Leopard already installed on your Hackintosh to download/install Lion.. PookyMacMan
You will never find a Snow Leopard distro that is 4.8 GB or under. Snow Leopard is built to be burned on a dual-layer DVD, so if there is no way that you can purchase dual-layer DVDs, you will either have to use an external drive (8 GB or larger) or be content with Leopard or Tiger. There is no way that you will find a SL distro that is for a single-layer DVD, unfortunately. PookyMacMan
Yes you can. It is a simple cloning operation–are you comfortable with executing Linux commands? I know how to install the bootloader in Linux and OS X but I haven't tried it in Windows... Try to get an ISO image if you can. If you get a DMG see if you can convert it...
