MrHackintoshUK
Hi, I've installed 10.6.8 using ##### and #####, and everything's working fine except for Quartz Extreme and 3D acceleration. I managed to get graphics working OK by adding my graphics card's device ID to ATI5000Controller.kext and ATIX3000.kext (may be slightly off on the name, I'm working from memory here), I can switch resolutions etc, but there's no 3D acceleration. Does anyone know how I can get this going? GraphicsEnabler is on, and I've tried putting a ROM in my Extras folder and setting the appropriate flag in my boot.plist but it doesn't seem to do anything. I have a Radeon HD 5500 on an Intel Core 2 Duo with an Asus P5KPL-AM SE mobo. Thanks in advance. MrHackintoshUK
As an update, just tried it on Lion and no dice. Now I can only boot up with GraphicsEnabler set to No, and obviously no QE or CI then... arrrrgh! MrHackintoshUK
Right. Done a fresh reinstall under Snow Leopard (Lion is {censored}) and tried again. Here's a list of everything I've tried: GraphicsEnabler=No - no difference, still no QE/CI Alternative bootloaders - won't even boot ATY_init.kext - doesn't seem to do anything, and links on netkas' site are broken ATIinjector.kext - doesn't seem to do anything ROM file in /Extra - no difference Different framebuffers in AtiConfig - no difference DSDT file for my motherboard - no difference, and no simple guides available to do anything re the gfx card The only thing I haven't tried is an EFI string, but again there's no information anywhere as to what I'm supposed to do when the "easy" tools don't have a Radeon HD5500 listed... please, anyone, any ideas at all?! maleorderbride
There is no such thing as HD5500. There are HD5570s, HD5450s, etc. What is the exact model of your card? Once you know that you can attempt to enable it using guides.
