I need help, cause i've lost all my data. I have 2 HDD, primary with WinXp and Ubuntu, and secondary with Mac OSX. I was using the disk utility from Mac Osx to erase and format a single partition (previously used by Ubuntu for data) into a Mac partition to store data. But the erasing ended with an error message sayin something like "Could not write partition table" anda now MY WHOLE PRIMARY DISK IS IN BLANK. No partitions shown, nothing... I've tried to boot from Ubuntu Live DIsk and using Gparted i've seen that is in blank... everything is lost.

Please give me any idea, cause i can't see any way for recovering it.

Thanks in advance

Try getting your hands on acronis disk director, and create the acronis bootable disk from it.

Boot from that disk and try using the acronis recovery expert.

Consult the following manual to know how: http://download.acronis.com/pdf/DiskDirect...e10.0_ug.en.pdf

I don't know if this will help you. It's just another tool that might help.

There might be other tools. Or maybe its too late.

Good luck.

Well in fact I've recovered everything. I couldn't use Acronis since i 'dndt have any win partition, but i found a jewel called TESTDISK http://www.cgsecurity.org/. It has to be used via console but it is very easy since it has menus and it's already compiled for OSX86. It has recovered everything except swap disk from Linux... (strange thing). But important Data is back... :):D:D:D

Thanks anyway cbmkgd

Hello guys

I'm having a similar problem. The disk utility has wiped all my ntfs partitions. From what i've heard, it is possible to restore the partition table with Testdisk. Actarus, how did you recover your partitions? What options did you choose in the menus?

Here's the link to my problem: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1297691
