Hi ,

this is my spec :

os : windows 7 64bit

vmware 7

4gb ram

cpu : amd turion (mobile) 64 x2 TL-58

osx : 10.6.1-10.6.2 leohazard version

bootloader : legacy_darwin.iso

-hardware visualization is enabled

-selected guest os in vmware is "FreebBSD 64"

-PAE is enabled in vmx file manually

and here is the story :

#1:

I'll create a vmdk file with nothing special and the I mount the "bootloader" on it the bootloader shows himself so I mount the "OSX" and hit f5 as the bootloader asks me and BAM! it will hang there

story #2:

I mount "OSX" directly to vmware and I can see the setup progress and I will try to install macosX on a hard disk which is not EXISTED!!! osX seems can't detect any disk space!!!

what should I do I seriously need to run OSX on my laptop due to university's module and I don't want to buy any other hardware cause I'm already broke :)

cheers.

Sounds like you need a patch for VMWare 7.

Download One: Mac_OS_X_Guest___VMWare_Patch.zip

Mirror:

What this patch does is add the option of Mac OS X Server to your chooses under VMWare. For a windows user, use the windows.bat file. If you have any other questions, consult the "read me" file.

Enjoy.

same old story :

after patch the vmware with this one :

"Mac OS X is not supported with software virtualization. To run Mac OS X you need a host on which VMware Workstation supports hardware virtualization."

where as I enable the HW VT in bios.

and for now I'm runing 10.5.5 but I want 10.6 for the sake of xcode 3.2.

any help would be appreciated ;)

The solution you proposed help me get to the installer, installing now. If the OS will work later I will reply again or edit this reply.

[The Installer finished successfully. The system doesn't load]

My System:

CPU: i3 2310M 2.10GHz (Virtualization enabled)

RAM: 4GB - 2x2GB Samsung, DDR3-1333 667 MHz

HDD: 500GB Hitachi

GPU: nVidia GeForce 315M - 1GB DDR3

WIFI: Atheros AR9002WB-1NG

LAN: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller RTL8139/810x

AUDIO: Realtek ALC269

MB: Toshiba Satellite C660

Chipset: Intel Sandy Bridge-MB IMC

BIOS: AMI EFI

I've tried several times installing it normally (from boot etc etc.) but no luck, I don't know why it panics.

I asked for help here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=269301 but it seems like no one wants to reply or know the answer.

I was hoping you could have a look at that.

Thanks!

I had this issue to. I found that if I rushed through the install screen and boot up screens, I would get a KP. What I do is take ten seconds switching back and forth between boot CD and Hard Disk (or Install DVD). Then finally do the -v flag, and it works! Strange I know, but that's just my observation.
