Vic320
So I have been having the problem where I try to purchase something from the App store and I get the "Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance." message. I've tried all of the suggestions on all of the sites including this one: * Adding the "EthernetBuiltIn" = "True" property to the various plist files. * Removing all of the network connections from the "Network" system preferences pane, then deleting the "NetworkConfiguration.plist" file from the "Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/" folder and rebooting. * Tried adding the EFI string to the boot.plist files manually, using EFIStudio and Chameleon. ...and a million variations of the these and other tips I've gotten online and still no success. I since have looked a little deeper and found that no matter what I do, IORegistryExplorer is showing "false" for the "IOBuiltin" property for the IOEnternetInterface object (see image below). My questions are these: Is this the problem (the "IOBuiltin" flag being set to "false")? I assume since many people are having this problem and having it fixed by adding the "EthernetBuiltIn" property it stands to reason that I will continue to have this problem if I can't get that flag to true. My second question is, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer! Gringo Vermelho
Yes, IOBuiltIn must be "true". Try via DSDT. type Ethernet DSDT into google or the forum search for more information. Your ioreg screenshot shows the code should be added under PEX5.
