engager
Hello. I was using snow leopard for long time and yesterday I decided to install the batch of updates (xCode 4.1 didn't want to install without them). Now boot stops on that: I would appreciate if anybody could give me any hint. My hardware configuration is: CPU: Intel® Pentium® dual-core processor T2390 1,86 ГГц Chipset: Intel® GM965 Express Installed RAM: 1 ГБ DDR2 (1x1024 МБ) + 1 free slot HDD: 160 Gb SATA Video: Intel® GMA X3100 Display: 1280 x 800, 12,1" WXGA Sound: Realtek ALC660 HD Wi-Fi: Atheros AR5007EG Bluetooth: exists Web-camera: 1.3 Mp
goodguess
My hardware did not like the 10.6.8 upgrade too. I had to add the old AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext from 10.6.7. That did the trick. Dont forget to run KextUtility or something similar after tinkering with your Extensions folder. If you have a Backup like one from Carbon Copy Cloner, it should be an easy fix. engager
I've started to use chameleon RC5 and now my snow leo boots if HDD is connected via USB, but when I put it via SATA interface it hangs on still waiting for root device still waiting for root device and so on I've tried a lot of stuff but still found no solution. Do anybody have an idea?
Komano
"Still waiting for root device" That error message just means that OS X CANNOT detect your hard drive. It literally means OS X cannot find where the hell your hard drive is. Check your bios to see which mode the SATA Controller is in. It should be in AHCI mode.
