iToastMac
Hey Guys I really Love iMac's and am planing to get one for my new school which will be IT based and a Mac would be great (Also want to get one, because iMovie is brilliant, and so is Pages... Ive tryed one at an apple store and have basically fallen in Love with it :3 ) But since we're gonna be using Visiual Studio 2010 (which apparently doesnt work with Mac's unless you have windows installed) i was wondering if i could somehow burn the Windows 7 on the Recovery Partition of my Dad's laptop onto a Dvd or and then install it onto my Mac via bootcamp ? Yeah its just a thought for now and if its not possible ill just have to buy Windows 7 separatly :/ cheers iToastMac Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/268564-burning-preinstalled-windows-to-a-disc-and-installing-via-bootcamp/ Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
This forum is mainly for discussing running OS X on PCs, not how to pirate Windows and run it on a Mac. You can't just burn the recovery partition to a DVD, it won't work, you will not be able to boot it. Besides it's surely modified to work only on the laptop it came with. If you only need Windows for Visual Studio 2010, just run Windows in a virtual PC. Then you can use OS X at the same time.
