nesnfsn
I have a single 500GB HD with disk0s1=EFI, disk0s2=SnowLeopard, disk0s3=Lion, disk0s4=10-6-Backup, and disk0s5=10-7-Backup. Have run CCC for backups of both OS' installs to respectitve backup partitions. Motherboard is a vanilla Asus P6T, with 6GB DDR3-1600Mhz RAM and an i7-930 (socket 1366) CPU, with a Galaxy GTS 250 512 MB video card (recognized with Graphics Enabler). In org.chameleon.Boot.plist, set <key>Default Partition</key><string>hd(0,2)</string>, and set <key>Hide Partition</key><string>hd(0,4) hd(0,5)</string>. Using Chameleon v2.0-RC5 r1332 installed to disk0s2 (SL), and when go to bootloader's select menu, it lists all 4 partitions. Can someone help me fix this so that I can hide backup partitions from bootloader menu? Gringo Vermelho
Yes, "Chameleon order" is different from "BIOS/Boot order". Sometimes OS X gets confused about drive order as well, so you can't always be sure that diskutil list shows the right order. To Chameleon, the drive it is installed on is always disk0. nesnfsn
Thanks for the feedback and guidance. When I get home tonight, if time provides and the family doesn't have too many things for me to do, I will check out the information with the -v bootflag to see if the drive is loading as disk1s2, as opposed to disk0s2 resulting from the "diskutil list" command run within Terminal. If so, I will make the appropriate changes to org.chameleon.Boot.plist file, and watch for results. Will post my success (hopeful?) afterward. Riley Freeman
You can also hide partitions by using their volume label. This way if the drives somehow get mounted in a different order the correct partitions will be hidden.
