AFAIK it's not possible to install it directly from a mounted ISO image. I'm afraid you will not find the information you are looking for on this site... macgirl
Well... I say it is possible, but you need, at least, a working Mac OS X, then you can use different program to format a disk an then use Pacifist to install the OS. niteice
Perhaps configure VMware to use your second hard drive as the virtual hard drive to install OSX on, then swap the drives so your second drive is first to boot it natively. ymls
thank you all very much for the above information. i know mac osx is based on UNIX and you can run PC with startup disk and use some command lines to mount mirrows to install linux. i dont know mac osx at all but know a little about linux. i guess it is possible to do in this way. i dont like VMware because it is so slow and i have not a working mac osx. :-( Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2681-is-it-possible-install-osxx86-from-harddisk/#findComment-17154 Share on other sites

My initial plan for installing osx was to save on dvd-r media and write the iso to a 4.3gb spare hard disk using transmac. i believe it would have worked however for some reason transmac could not see the other drive.
