ciencia02 Posted September 2, 2011 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Need Help with Snow Leopard and Lion installation My System dell precision 690 Specifications are as follow Motherboard is 5000x intel chipset 2x dual core xeon processors @3.20 hrz 500 gb harddrive (for OS X installation) PNY Technologies NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 with 512 mb GDDR5 SDRAM Before this video card I had a HD 4870 which I remove cause I thougt that it was the video card that wasn't compatible. Problem is I am able to boot the snow leopard retail DVD with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] legacy after going through the whole installation everything since Ok but once I update to the 10.6.8 combo update and run [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] in [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] and system utilities, and try to reboot, once I get to the boot loader and hit enter the computer will start rebooting, every time I tried It will do the same thing. if I tried [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] legacy Or Nawcom's boot CD it will start booting but Get stuck at PCi configuration, with the CD I have tried -v,-x, PcirootUID=1 and It will get stuck at the same place Help please anybody has a guide how to make the installation work or have any idea what am I doing wrong Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/266995-help/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
aufa333 Posted September 5, 2011 Share Posted September 5, 2011 reinstall but this time dont use [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] ,instead get ur drivers kexts and install them with kext Util + install myhack 1.1.4 or any of the new chameleon releases ,do some research as i don't have any clue regarding the dual xeon hackintosh. ciencia02 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Share Posted September 7, 2011 reinstall but this time dont use [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] ,instead get ur drivers kexts and install them with kext Util + install myhack 1.1.4 or any of the new chameleon releases ,do some research as i don't have any clue regarding the dual xeon hackintosh. ok, I kept reinstalling, use different options one of them was my hack 1.14 and still it keeps rebooting, finally got and installation to work by upgrading to 10.6.6 with the combo update and them using pratsys 10.6.6 legacy kernel. in order to boot I have to set the pcitrootuid=1 cpus=1 -v on the bootloader screen, and I don't have full graphics, been trying to make work but not luck another problem is that SL doesn't recognize my original cpu, it says I have a intel core 2 duo instead of a xeon core 2 duo, in the hardware profile it reads that I have 1 cpu 4 cores, when I tried to install lion the system tells me that lion can only be install on a core 2 duo or xeon processor. any ideas how can I fix this problem.
