iRSX
Some have suggested installing Snow Leopard as a virtual machine in VMWare and going from there. Or you can use UltraISO to open the .dmg file and convert the InstallESD.dmg to ISO and burn that? Never tried, but people have mentioned it. Rufus Sweetwater
After a long and confusing battle, I cannot, for some reason, install snow leopard on VMware Workstation, so i'm downloading the DMG and im gonna try that InstallESD.dmg trick and see how that goes, but right now, it's not looking good... overdrivemachines
Instead of using a USB stick can I use a external hard drive. Will it work? Despite this advice floating around all over the net, DMG files cannot be opened with PowerISO or UltraISO (and I have tried with the latest versions). Only chance you have is to use TransMac. Instead of using a USB stick can I use a external hard drive. Will it work? If you have an existing Mac OS X installation (or access to Mac for that matter), yes, you can setup installer on an HDD partition. If you do not have either, then you need to have a flash drive and Linux (or use dd for windows). Rufus Sweetwater
Okay, I have Snow Leopard installed on VMware Workstation on Windows 7, I am following the procedure MaLd0n gave in his post (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=256729). I have downloaded all the necessary files and I started the setup. I opened the disk utility, but I cant get Snow Leopard (running on VMware) to see the USB stick. VMware says the USB stick is connected, but Snow Leopard doesnt see the flash drive. How do I get VMware Workstation to allow and show the USB stick in Snow leopard Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/266912-hp-envy-i7-for-the-1st-time/#findComment-1762305 Share on other sites
