AMD Radeon 5870m - Lion 10.7 - DVD Player Crash & Fantom Display Detected HELP!

OS: Lion 10.7.X

Card: AMD Radeon 5870m

Need help resolving:

DVD player quits on startup:

Fix: I looked into ATY_Init.kext but like always information is plenty and useless.

Fantom Display Detected:

In Display preferences a second display is shown as aVGA Display.

Current hack is to change the resolution to match the main display 1920x1080 then mirror the 2.

Is there a way to make ti realize that there is no display attached so that only one monitor is detected?

I have this same problem with a Radeon 4890. DVD Player crashes as does Temperature Monitor. I am also having problems with Premier. I think it is related to incorrect frame buffers being used but I haven't found a solution.

FIX G73JH 5870m BLACK SCREEN WHEN CHANGE RESOLUTION

Kext from 10.7.4 update - edited by me to be fully compatible with the asus notebook G73JH mobility radeon 5870 (QE/CI internal display & hdmi WORKING WITHOUT THE BLACK SCREEN WHEN CHANGE RESOLUTION) I take me a long time to figure out how to fix the problem and a LOT of trial & error to fix that problem. Thanks to the info on the topics below i understand now how to fix the problem.: :thumbsup_anim:
