RealNC
Well, there's nothing to say, really. OS X in a VM is slow. If you want it faster, buy a fast multicore CPU. warlocklw
Any OS at VMWare is slow. Make a dual boot instead. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/265884-vmware-is-verry-slow/#findComment-1737939 Share on other sites

RealNC
There's nothing you can do. Everyone running OS X in a VM has this problem. The performance seems so bad because of the GUI, since VMWare lacks proper accelerated graphics drivers. Also, for best results, you need an Intel CPU; OS X was optimized for them. Running OS X in VMWare with a Core 2 Duo 3.3GHz is *still* slow here, so I can only imagine that it's much worse with an AMD CPU. warlocklw
Hello!OSX in VMware with 2.3 GHz processor, 1GB memory, 512MB video is Verrry slow and S-Low Thanx for Help:JoC:HuN 1GB RAM? Of course. My dual boot OSX run at 1GB, Windows 7 run at 2 GB. You need at least 4GB RAM, and your processor can't handle good if it's 1 core. Even if it's multicore processor and you have 4GB+ RAM, OSX still will slower at VMWare compare to dual boot, and you won't happy with its result. My suggestion, dual boot it. Grootstyr
OS X and other OS's are running far from slow on my AMD box AMD Phenom II X6 1090T(3.2GHz) with 2GB per VM. I have 16600MHz available for allocating and 8GB RAM, thinking of updating to 16GB though. So how slow it is really depends on your configuration - although let it be clear that it will never be as fast as natively.
