Hello folks,

I have successfully installed SL 10.6.3 on my Dell Latitude E4300 with the Disto of iAtkos v2.

After installing, I wanted to update to 10.6.8 by the Apple integrated software update.

After rebooting the installation keeps hanging on the start screen with the apple logo.

Therefore I started the installation in verbose mode and single user (-v -x) and there is the problem.

I see many HFS+ lines and when it becomes interesting at the end it shows some lines and then reboots immediately and I am not able to view the output. I have tried to pause the prozess with the pause key on my keyboard but it ends so fast, that I am not able to pause at the right lines.

The last line I have managed to pause at was:

RTC: Only single RAM bank (128 bytes)

I have googled this line and found out, that this is nothing to worry about. (Is that right?)

I hope that I find the helping lines after the RTC:.... line but therefore I have to prevent the laptop from rebooting when the last line in verbose mode is reached.

How can I do that?Do you need any more specs about my hardware for that?

I couldn't find anything regarding this in the www. Probably I could not put it in appropriate search key words.

Thanks in advance!!

try to boot with the same DVD u used for the 1st installation ,also the problem about Distro versions that they have lots of modifications which when u update to the original update from mac ,lots of this mods gets wiped-out/alterd

so after u boot try to install the same drivers from ur distro again and check on google 1st for any updated drivers/kext for 10.6.8 or u may get the same error/kp again.

Lion does not go with ##### but xMove and ##### i think

For 10.68 drivers use ##### it will solve all your problem

Good Luck

Hello,

I now setup a boot USB stick with Lion 10.7 on it after this guide:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=263357

When I boot from USB stick the bootloader boots and when I choose the USB Drive to start from, I get the following output: post-854266-1313618605_thumb.jpg

and the installation does not start.

When I boot from the stick again, choose the stick in bootloader again and boot with -v -x I get the following output:

Can somebody help me?

I could install 10.6.3 from the iAtkos S3 v2 without a problem. But with the stick now, I dont even come to an installation screen.

Here are my hardware specs: hardware_e4300.txt

Thank you guys very much.

PS: Maybe an admin can move this thread to 10.7 now?

Here is my extra/extensions folder on my USB stick:

bild.tiff

unfortunately I cannot edit or view pictures. But I will not put any work in that because I want to update to Lion. Hopefully it is fixed there.

This are the files that are in my extra/extensions folder:

AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext

Disabler.kext

EvOreboot.kext

fakesmc.kext

VoodooBattery.kext

VoodooPS2Controller.kext

VoodooTSCSync.kext

Ok...I now downloaded another SL 10.6.0 retail DVD image, burned it to DVD-DL and ##### could see this DVD after I inserted it (with my other burned DVDs ##### did not show it in the bootscreen after pressing F5 for several times)...But here comes the next issue.

The Install DVD starts but hangs in the grey Apple screen. Here is the output of -v -x:

What does this mean?

Thank you very much.
