tubasam
Hey everyone. As you can tell by that little post counter thing, i am new lol. Don't mean to waste time with the typical n00b questions that seem to annoy everyone, but I just need a little hard gettin' started out so it'd be great if I could get some help =) Now I recently built a new computer for gaming which is fairly good. Specs are in my sig. Currently I am downloading the 10.4.6 ISO, but I just wanted to know any problems with my hardware I may encounter, or any problems in general. Im trying to stick to the stickys and tuts till I become semi-fleuent in the whole OSX86 this so I don't bug you guys, but just wanted to say "hi" and see how my box will do. Thanks! cbmkgd
If you go at the wiki, in the hardware compatibility list, in the processor section, you'll see that your opteron 146 has been seen to have success, as well as the dfi lan party in the mb list. This OSx86 Project wiki (with a link in the upper right corner of this forum) is a good place to start by oneself, to get through initial questions about compatibilities, some installation guides, etc. Just a quick remark: you didn't indicate if your hd was a pata or sata; osx on nf4 based boards (among others) doesn't do well with writing on sata's (although it can read them). So better install on a pata drive in this situation. For the video card, check out the macvidia project. Good luck and have fun!
