McReid
Currently using Asus P5K-Deluxe WiFi, and have tried every humanly conceivable possible way to get Lion installed. I have read, and followed almost every article that Google could find, from xMove, to USB stick installations, etc, you name it. All fell short of working. However, after many weeks of trying, I finally found a method that actually worked located here: http://myhack.sojugarden.com/guide/ So, go figure, I finally get a method that works, self boots, the installer starts, the whole nine, and then, I get to the part where I am asked which drive I want to install Lion on, and my two ATA drives, (ATA, not SATA), are not listed. The installer did, however, see my SATA drives. Now, when I installed SL with a retail disk and #####, SL's installer let me see, and install to my ATA drives. Allow me to state, that, all of my BIOS settings, (IDE to AHCI etc), are the same, as when installing SL. Could anybody please help me, as to how to alter the relevant files on my Lion USB installation flash drive, to see my ATA drives in my system, as available options to install to? splonk
Look for a patched IOATAFamily.kext that supports legacy drives and add it to /S/L/E in your installer.
