quickq111
1) Does the F5D7050 Belkin USB Wireless Adapter v4 allow for WEP encryption? 2) If it does not, can I still get the v2 or v3 in a store (like CompUSA or BestBuy)? Guest bikedude880
I am currently using the Belkin F5D7050v4 on WEP with no problems whatsoever. As far as I know, it also supports WPA! quickq111
I went to CompUSA and got a F5D7050 v3. Incredible. I LOVE OSX86! All I did was download drivers and it works seamlessly every time. I love it. Highly reccomended. Poramola
I got this from Circuit City for $29.99. It's working with WPA-PSK but has a LOT of frames with errors. (when I look at the stats). I can surf the web although it's a little slow. Ouch
Don't use wep unless you absolutely have to. It's not particularly good and can be cracked fairly easily with the right tools and some patience. If your router supports WPA definitely use that. Another option is not to employ security on the router and instead use IPSec accross your whole wireless network.
