ErOSx86
Hi All I managed to install Lion on my PC, following the instructions over in the installation section. Everything seems to work ok except for Sound (not to fussed about that) and my Graphics Card (am kinda fussed about that) The Specs of the PC are as follows: MB - XFX 780i series RAM - 8 GB DDR2 @ 1000MHz GPU - XFX GTX295 - I am 99% sure it is the dual PCB one as it is an early model and the fan is at the rear, with a heatsink running through the middle. Sound - Creative X-Fi Xtreme, + onbard HD sound. I managed to get Lion installed yesterday, and in the course of trying to get the GTX295 working managed to invoke random crashes from the PC in the process... and such i am now on a fresh install. I had difficulty with the existing tools/packages that people have recommended and put together for the 295 install for Leopard and SL, The other thing is that, the GPU appears in the profiler as having 5mb ram, and no matter what options i change in the org.chameleon.Boot file, it appears not to have any effect at all (the Graphics Enabler is set to yes, the resolution is set at my monitor native... but the PC always boots to 1280x1024) I read way to get it to work is to edit the DSDT.aml, or generate the huge device string and put it into the org.chameleon.Boot file along with changing a new kexts? Im open to try either again, but wondered if anyone has done it with success recently and could give any tips. Cheers Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/264875-new-user-lion-installed-now-for-a-gtx-295/ Share on other sites
ErOSx86
I was able to get the graphics card operational and seemingly working... it also supports OpenCL although I think the OS only recognizes or gives access to 1 on the GPUs. I used the NVEnabler64.kext as found on the following page http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;showentry=769 The page lists it as a solution for the GTX275 though, mine is now running and i haven't yet had chance to do complete testing.
