Zaxboi
Have a GIGABYTE Z68XP-UD3 motherboard, Core i7/2600 CPU and 16GB of RAM (4x4GB DDR3 1333), several 1TB WD drives with BIOS configured AHCI. Running latest BIOS (F4). Video is an ATI 5770 (but the issue I am having is not video related). I can use iBoot3.1.1 with standard Retail Snow Leopard DVD and do install just fine. I use the 10.6.7 combo update once up and after installing, before RESTART, try ##### with fairly standard options (install utilities, default Chameleaon boot loader, Voodoo HDA 0.2.72, tried 32 bit and 64 bit, tried PCI ID root fix, tried both Pstates/Cstates auto generate and not, I have tried lots of options lol). Result is that if I boot from disk, Chameleon comes up, I use "-v" see the first stage loading of the kext caches and then the screen clears for the next phase as kernel loads but it stays blank and that's it! We go nowhere after that. I have tried an older video card, no dice. I can still boot the 10.6.7 system with the ##### CD however, just not the bootloader ##### installs. Have tried as well an older version of ##### (3.7.3). This may be a DSDT issue? Any help here appreciated, thanks! p.s. attempts at going directly to 10.6.8 fail with a KP on ApplePRSMDC... so backed off to 10.6.7 which is successful at upgrade but with inability to finish boot from disk described above. Chief9999
okay I have a Z68XP ud3 f8 and tried ##### since I saw you did it and I have to admit I lost a weekend. I can install using the retail dvd (10.6) using ##### classic then I have to do a partial install of ##### to get a ethernet driver. downloaded the 10.6.8 combo update and the sandybridge patch to run before updating and it always crashes I figured out only the one kext to use so far. I'm assuming your doing the dsdt method and I even borrowed your dsdt. by the way what processor are you using I have a 2600K I see your doing the lion method but I am very curious how you did SL what options you ticked off and what kexts you enabled. Not My first go round I have done about 29 hackies starting with a amd and usually given 48 hours have them bullet proof. So I am asking for help...
