I got 10.6.3 fully working on a spare HDD, and backed up it's image on my windows HDD (on a Mac Journaled partition).

Just for fun I installed EasyBCD on my windows HDD with the Mac OS X image, and selected an additional boot sector for OS X, just to see if I could get the image to run.

Well it turns out that it boots! But many of my kexts aren't working like keyboard, trackpad, sound and graphics.

How can it be that EasyBCD can boot the system, but that the system doesn't execute the kexts like on my other HDD?

I realize this isn't a genuine dual boot installation but I was surprised that the image would boot at all. Now I've tried reinstalling the kexts, and rebuilt cache and repaired permissions. After that, it won't boot anymore. It just stays stuck in verbose mode at a prompt with FireWire.

What is that?

One more question, on my windows HDD, to which I transferred the image of my working OS X, I don't know if it has a GUID table or not. How would that play a role? Does OS X absolutely need a GUID table to even boot?

-the mac booted because of the boot file on the driver + the boot flag that Easybcd made for it am not sure if the OSX could work that way 'i didnt tried or saw anyone do it like this ' but anyway boot with -x -v and give us the exact msg u get.

-os x can boot on MBR but it need some mods ,the good news is that windows and Macs can boot with GUID so if u can format with GUID instead of MBR it would be better 'be careful as it will erase ur HDD if u did that"

-about the firewire ,disable it and check back ,it doesn't matter if it staid dis unless u really need it.
