Hi,

So I finally finished installing Lion on my Hackintosh:

  • Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3R-B3
  • Core i7 2600K
  • Asus HD 5670 1GB DDR3
  • Transcend 8GB RAM

Although the system is flying but I find the Geekbench score (32-bit) of 9798 to be low considering similar hardware scores around 11k. Any particular reason for this? Or is it normal? Or it just that hackintosh is usually slower than native Mac hardware?

Either way, are there any tweaks I can apply to improve the score?

Thanks!

Did you over-clock your processor? That could easily make a 1000+ point difference for the score. That is still a pretty decent score and I get about the same with a i7-950 at around 3.2 GHZ. You should be more concerned about the fps of your graphics card because that will be a main factor in determining if your graphics card is working correctly.

No I haven't overclocked. Thats the thing, 2600k should be faster, similar iMacs score around 11k with similar graphics cards.

About the graphics card, do you think its because of the drivers? Anything better available for HD 5670?

Thanks

What are you using for the card now? That card should work natively. I'm running a HD 5870 natively.
